Wacom bamboo tablet compatibility issue?

My wacom bamboo tablet (wacom bamboo PEN, not pen and touch) is having a pretty significant issue in Photoshop CS3. I have windows 7, and I have the latest driver for the tablet. The actual issue, is randomly, the pen will draw a straight line, from the touch of the pen, to the lift of the pen. sometimes its only occasional but other times it can do it quite frequently. It works fine on Corel painter. I've done extensive searching online, and everyone claims its either a photoshop compatibility issue, or a windows 7 issue... And no, I'm not pressing shift. : ) I have no clue what do do to fix it, but I'd like to draw in photoshop. I've tried resetting the settings for photoshop, and that didn't fix it. If you KNOW the problem, PLEASE help me here. Corel is fine, but I'd REAAALLY prefer CS3. Thank you for your time in advance!
